J.A. Rodríguez, Jr., CSP, SGE is Chairman of the Board and CEO of the Voluntary Protection Program Participants’ Association (VPPPA) Inc. and a global senior leader for Raytheon Company’s $6+ billion Intelligence, Information, and Services (IIS) business. He leads the Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHSS) organization for Raytheon IIS at 550+ sites in 100 countries. He develops and implements enterprise-wide, solution-focused EHSS strategies that capitalize on performance excellence. J.A. is responsible for driving overall strategic oversight and direction, organizational efficiencies, revenue and profit drivers including growth by implementing critical best in class, high performing EHSS management systems.
J.A. is a professional member of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), an OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Special Government Employee (SGE), and an inventor (Patent# 5,285,961). He is author of the book, “Not Intuitively Obvious – Transition to the Professional Work Environment”, co-editor of the American Society of Safety Engineer’s (ASSE) book: “Consultants Business Development Guide”, and an avid writer for several media outlets including EHS Today Magazine and LinkedIn Pulse.
He holds an Associate in Engineering degree in Electronics Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, Massachusetts, a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Western New England University in Springfield, Massachusetts.
