Safety Tours

Benchmark your operations and learn world-class safety culture at manufacturing facilities or sites. Tours include a behind-the-scenes look at each facility's safety program, use of technology, and best practices. Each offers a guided tour of local manufacturers and provides time for questions and answers at the conclusion of the tour. Tour seats are limited, so register early to secure your opportunity.

NOTE: Should a new tour be announced after you have registered, you will have the ability to change your selection. Transportation to and from The Hyatt Regency Louisville and the plant will be provided. All attendees must utilize this transportation.

PRECLUSION STATEMENT: EHS Today may be required to preclude attendees from attending a tour. This step will be taken solely by EHS Today at the request of our host facility based upon the proprietary nature of information that is to be presented. The host facility's decisions are final and will be communicated to attendees in advance. Some participants on the tour may be asked to complete a Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA).

We distill Bourbon and Rye Whiskey and distribute into 34 states and counting. At Kentucky Peerless, we produce about 2,000 barrels per year and recieve about 9,000 visitors per year and growing. We have 25 employees total.

We received No.15 best whiskey is the U.S. by Whiskey Advocate in 2017 and were given the highest grade of 91 in comparison to 8 other craft rye whiskies on the market also by Whiskey Advocate. Our packaging (label, bottle and cork) was named Package of the Year in the Liquor and Spirits category by Tricor Braun. We were given the Award of Excellence by Trip Advisor in 2017 and 2018. USA Today named us the People's Choice Second Best Craft Distillery in the nation and our product wasn't on the market yet. Our bottle and cap were given the Gold Award at the National Association of Container Distributers conference.

Louisville MSD provides wastewater collection and treatment, stormwater/drainage management, and Ohio River Flood Protection services for the Louisville community. The facility being toured conveys 40 Million Gallons/Day of wastewater (40% of Jefferson County). This will be a walking tour in public spaces to examine temporary pumping facilities, piping to dry the pipe for workers, and safety considerations for the public and workers in the pipe.

The Raytheon Missile Systems facility in Louisville manufactures/remanufactures and provides complete lifecycle support for the Phalanx Close-In Weapon System (CIWS), SeaRAM, and Land-Based Phalanx Weapon System (LPWS). The site’s lifecycle support model includes a robust Performance Based Logistics (PBL) program, which provides rapid response to warfighter needs for replacement spares. The Louisville facility also manufactures the Rolling Airframe Missile (RAM) Launcher and is preparing to manufacture David’s Sling Missile Firing Unit (MFU) and the Naval Strike Missile (NSM) launcher. The site has demonstrated ability to implement proven Lean strategies to achieve world-class performance, being recognized as a winner of the coveted Shingo Prize for Excellence in Manufacturing.

The site received KY VPP Star status in 2008 and VPP Mentor status in 2014; multiple Governor's Safety awards; as well as several internal and external Worksite Wellness awards.
